D-1 Sports vs. World Wide Orange
John Wall PG D-1 Sports Class of 2009
JOHN WALL IS
FAST!!!!! I thought I would never see speed like Derrick
Rose in high school again, but Wall matches the 2008 #1 pick and
might even have a higher gear. In transition Wall can
change the game with his explosive speed. He weaves in and
out of traffic like they are not even moving and either finds an
open teammate or finishes around the hoop with
athleticism. Nobody on the high school level can defend
Wall off the dribble. When he gets to the hole the guard
has the strength to finish athletic and-1's and can absolutely
throw it down with authority. His passes are crisp and
most of the time he has pinpoint accuracy. In this game he
struggled some early with being out of control. Wall took
over the game late for D-1 Sports with his passing, scoring, and
defense shown when he got a key steal and block late in the
game. Wall looked like the #1 player in the nation by the
end of this game.

Ryan Kelly PF D-1
Sports Class of 2009
Kelly has a solid body for a power forward his age and has room
on his frame to add some weight. He finished nice around
the hoop with a soft touch. Also, I liked Kelly's nice use
of ball fakes to create openings for his shot. He gets
solid positioning on the boards and has some shot blocking
capabilities. Overall he just does the little things that
help his squad get the W. Kelly's stock has risen to a top
20 player and 5-star status.

Richard Howell PF
World Wide Orange Class of 2009
Howell was very impressive in his game against D-1 Sports.
He showed nice versatility and that he could play some combo
forward at the next level. On the perimeter side, Howell
showed a nice handle, is quick off dribble, and can play in the
pick and roll game. On the interior, he used his strong
body and nice back to the basket game to score down low.
Howell looked like a top 25-30 player in the next rankings.
|
Ari Stewart SF World
Wide Orange Class of 2009
Ari is an athletic finisher. He likes to slash to the hoop
with his strong body. Being active around the hoop was
also something Stewart showed in this game. When it comes
down to it, Stewart will make his money slashing off the dribble
toward the hoop. Stewart is a top 25-30 player in the
Class of 2009.

Mon Udofia PG World
Wide Orange Class of 2009 (Georgia Tech)
Udofia played his first game as a new Georgia Tech
commitment. The newest Yellow Jacket is a quick lefty with
long arms. He gets in the lane easily and can make the
pass in tight spaces. Udofia also showed a nice perimeter
stroke. This point guard makes World Wide Orange go.
He is a top 50-60 prospect in the Class of 2009.

LA Dream Team vs. Franchize All Stars
John Henson PF Franchize All Stars Class of 2009 (North
Carolina)
My nickname for John Henson is Inspector Gadget! He is
INSANELY LONG. This obviously helps him in the shot block
department which he is great at doing, especially coming from
the weak side. Henson came out very active and aggressive
from the beginning with his big match up against Renardo
Sidney. He is at his best finishing around the hoop with
powerful dunks. Whether it is of an alley-oop, a tip back,
or a flash to the hole, the future Tar Heel brings the thunder
in his dunks. He is great at running the floor in
transition and you know Ol' Roy will like that. In the
middle part of this game John struggled with turnovers and
holding onto the ball. One thing I would like to see is
Henson playing more of a pure post game. Maybe it was just
how his AAU coach uses him, but he was out on the perimeter an
awful lot. By the end though, it was clear that Henson won
his match up with fellow 5-star big man Renardo Sidney. He
finished with 25 points by my total. Henson has elevated
into a top 3 ranking and may challenge Wall and Favors for #1!

Renardo Sidney C LA
Dream Team Class of 2009
Sidney is the most frustrating player on the high school level
to scout. One night he looks like the no doubt #1 player
in the nation, but the next he lays an egg and you think why is
he a 5-star. Sidney is very thick, even more than I
remember. He still has the solid mid range shot with a
feathery touch that is the trademark of his offensive
game. This a really good facet to have and he is one of
the best bigs in the nation at it, but I would like to see
Sidney set down in the post and play consistently on the
block. When he does, he can be dominant. On one
occasion he finished so hard it looked like Shaq back in the LSU
days. The two parts that keep coming up with Renardo came
up in this game, his emotions and disappearing. He plays
with emotion, which can be good at times, but when you foul John
Henson 40 feet away from the basket for no apparent reason that
is not so good. Throughout the game he disappeared and
would reappear later. I would like to see more consistent
play. Still he is a top 10 player in the Class of 2009
with his top notch talent.

Belmont Shores vs. DC Triple Threat
Maurice Creek
SG DC Triple Threat Class of 2009 (Indiana)
Creek's jumper is so pure! It is like watching Dorrell
Wright or Wayne Ellington shoot the ball. This is the best
part of his game, as he consistently drained 3's in Belmont
Shores face all night. The shot was going in from mid
range as well on this night. I liked how he moved without
the ball to get open. Although his best facet is his shot,
the future Hoosier has the athleticism to get to the rack and
finish. I had Creek for 22 points in the win. Creek
looked like a top 25-30 player in the class of 2009.
|
Chris Braswell PF DC Triple
Threat Class of 2009 (reclassified from 2008)
Braswell will be going to prep school and has reclassified to
the Class of 2009. His body has gotten thicker over the
years and will be able to bang in the post at the collegiate
level. At times the big man showed nice quickness
inside. He got to the line at a high rate and he also put
bricks up at a high rate. Braswell is a top 85-100
prospect in 2009.
|
Hollis Thompson SF
Belmont Shores Class of 2009 (Georgetown)
Hollis didn't show up in the first half, but boy did he in the
second. He was so unimpressive in the first half I thought
it was Hollis Thompson, but I wasn't sure because he wasn't
making plays like a 5-star should. That change as he
almost single handily brought his team back to get this game
into overtime. In the 2nd half Thompson showed off his
perimeter shot that went down in the later part of the
game. He also had a nice explosive dunk attacking from the
wing. I had Thompson for about 15 points. The future Hoya
reclaimed his top 25-30 status with his late game performance.
|
Darius Morris PG
Belmont Shores Class of 2009
Morris showed the ability to get in the lane. He has solid
size for a point guard. His perimeter shot is streaky, but
when he gets going he can put up points in a hurry. Morris
finished with 16 points. He looked like a top 65-70 player
in the new rankings.

Northwest Panthers vs. Team Breakdown
Kenny Boynton SG Team Breakdown Class of 2009
SCORER! That is what Kenny Boynton is. He knows how
to do it and does it very well. The high octane two
guard is extremely fast running in transition and beats the
other team down the court on a consistent basis. Boynton
played ok in the first half, but took it to a level rarely seen
in the second period. Every thing he put up from beyond
the arc went in. The five star was on FIRE from tre
land. He has a quick release and is excellent pulling up
in transition and knocking down the shot. Also, he is not
afraid to attack to hoop with his excellent quickness and quick twitch
acceleration. His body is strong enough to absorb the
contact and finish. Boynton has elevated to top 5 status.
|
Brandon Knight PG Team
Breakdown Class of 2010
Knight is an elite level junior that can run the point with
great effectiveness. He explodes off the dribble with
great speed, a handle that is always under control, and the
ability to change gears at the drop of a hat. Like
Boynton, Knight is a solid shooter from deep. Being a
pesky defender is also something that is a plus in Knights
game. He is a lock for top 3 status and most likely #1
overall.
|
Abdul Gaddy PG
Northwest Panthers Class of 2009
The former Arizona commit reminds me of Deron Williams. He
has good size, a solid body, can run the team effectively, as
well as shooting the perimeter shot. In the first half
Gaddy showed that he was strong with the ball and smooth
operating with the rock in this hands. He was the player
of the game in the first half. The second was a different
story. His team blew a 14 point half time lead to lose to
Team Breakdown. Gaddy is a top 12 player in the Class of
2009.
|
Avery Bradley SG
Northwest Panthers Class of 2009
I said that Gaddy reminded me of DWill, well Bradley is reminiscent
of Williams' former Illni teammate Luther Head. Bradley is
wiry strong, with nice length, and will attack the hoop.
The best facet of his game is his shot. Bradley is
effective from both mid range and three point land. I also
like the way he moved without the ball to get open for his
shot. This shooting guard prospect is a top 20 player in
the Class of 2009.
