The featured game to the 2008 Vandalia Shootout was Illinois power DeCatur Eisenhower versus Christian County out of Kentucky.  There were 4 high major quality players on the floor in the game that Eisenhower won 82 to 66 after being down by 5 at the half.

Lewis Jackson PG Decatur Eisenhower (IL) Class of 2008 (Purdue)

Lew Jack is one of the most exciting playmakers to watch in the Class of 2008.  The future Boilermaker is extremely quick with the ball in all facets of the game whether it is transition, off the dribble in the half court, or delivering a quick pass to a teammate.  Jackson is a pass 1st point guard.  He loves to set his teammates up with his flashy And 1 handle and passes leading to assists.  He has a strong, athletic, compact body.  Jackson is not the biggest PG, checking in at under 6 feet, but makes up for it.  He is not afraid to go into the lane, finishing with athleticism and getting and 1's through contact.  Because of his elite quickness he can not be guarded one on one.  Defensively, Jackson is a good on ball defender that pesters the ball handler.  Lew Jack was named MVP of the game finishing with 22 points.  I really believe Jackson is over looked because of his lack of height.  In my opinion he is a top 45 player in the Class of 2008.

Jeremy Robinson PF DeCatur Eisenhower (IL) Class of 2008 (Illinois St.)

Robinson is a high major player who will be taking his game to the Missouri Valley next year.  He is thick and has a strong upper body.  Offensively he demolished the undersized frontline of Christian County.  Robinson attacks the hoop from interior and can finish with either power or a nice soft touch.  He also showed he could finish through contact.  His mid range has a high release and showed that he could put it in.  Running the floor is something I like to see out of athletic bigs like Robinson and he showed the motor to do that throughout the game.  Defensively, he punished the visitors from Kentucky for coming into the lane with his shot blocking ability.  Robinson is a nice prospect and should be considered a boarderline top 100 recruit and no worse than top 125 in the Class of 2008.

Jarod Oldham SG DeCatur Eisenhower (IL) Class of 2010

Oldham is the glue guy for this veteran DeCatur Eisenhower team.  The sophomore is super long and athletic.  On the offensive end he plays within himself and does not force anything.  He showed a quick burst off the dribble and a nice perimeter shot.  To no suprise the long and athletic Oldham played very well in the transition game.  His length is also a major factor on the defensive end.  He used it to get in passing lanes.  Oldham could debut in the top 75 of the expanded Class of 2010 rankings.

Shaquille Wilson SG Christian County (KY) Class of 2010

In the matchup of the two 2010 shooting guard prospects I would say that Wilson looks like a slightly better prospect.  Wilson has a thin upper body with nice length.  Early on, Shaquille had trouble controlling his high handle.  Wilson went into this game looking for his shot.  He was able to get his shot off when ever he wanted with his quick release.  The range on Wilson's shot extends all the way to NBA range.  I liked how he moved without the ball to get open and set up his pure shooting stroke.  In the one on one game he can take his man off the dribble and get in the lane as well as creating space with a jab step.  Wilson also showed he can make his free throws.  Like most young players he needs to add strength to be ready for the next level, but Wilson proved he is a legit top 50 player in the Class of 2010.  If Wilson continues to grow he could grow from a shooting guard prospect to a nice small forward prospect.
